| The Lawler C7
(Committee 7)
The Lawler C7 has that real studio sound of the 1950's. The C7's step bore design gives you real control in the upper register and in the dynamic. The effort to go from soft to loud is minimal. The quick response is due to its hand building and stress relieved braces. Many players of vintage Martin Committee's have commented that the C7 sound is right on the mark but with modern intonation and feel.
In an effort to give you more choices in the C7 line and make it easier to make a choice please take a look at the new numbering system for the bells, leadpipes and trim options. This should help you to pick out what combination works best for you.
C7 Bell discriptions
Bell #1 Medium tail taper, Small throat taper, Fast flare. This bell will tend to have a bright sound good for all out lead playing.
Bell #2 Medium tail taper, Medium throat taper, Fast flare. This bell will have a fuller sound but with brightness.
Bell #3Fast tail taper, Large trought taper, Fast flare. This is the most popular bell with full mid-range sound, solid core but when push will carry out over the section.
Bell #4 Extra fast tale taper, Large throat,Fast flare. This bell works well on the larger bores. It has a very broad spectrum of sound and feel. A warm sound but will take more effort.
All of my C7 bells are 2 piece constuction. My stock bell rim sizes are 4 3/4" and 4 /7/8". Any of the C7 flares are available in:
Yellow Brass-Gold brass-Red brass
C7 bells that are gold brass and red brass tend to be darker in tone. However they remain very responsive in articulation and dynamic from soft to loud.
Typically C7 bells have a soft square bend in the tail. They can be special ordered with a round bend.
