Lets Talk about Finishes!
No Finish Lasts Forever!
I wanted to make players aware of our Brush (scratch) lacquer finish. Lawler trumpets was first to offer this finish in lacquer and have been applying it for several years now. The advantages of this finish is that it is very maintainable over time. If you wear through an area it can be touched up with no visible signs. It does not change playability as I still use an air dry lacquer that is not hard and thick. Also turn around is faster as it is done in our shop. Plating such as silver and gold take longer and gold plate has become very expensive. So consider this finish. Plating will add up to 4-6 weeks to your build time. Brush lacquer will only add a few days. If you have any more questions about our brush lacquer for your new or old Lawler, just give me a call.

What makes it a Lawler?

One of the comments made most often about my trumpets is how responsive and even the trumpet feels. This is due to the fact there is no stress when assembled.Even after polishing the braces are stress relieved several times.

I will be adding more prodution pictures in the coming days. I do all of the solder joint cleaning and polishing by hand. The reason for this is that the large companies put the finished assembled trumpet in a ACID etching solution to remove excess solder for speed. This is why some trumpets have red rot problems as they are left in to long. The strong acid pulls the zinc out of the brass.
